Certificate

What does this certificate look like?

The concrete design of the certificate is left to the respective IHK. However, certain formal criteria must be met. The essential components of the certificate of competence are laid down in the Guarding Ordinance (BewachV), namely quite specifically in Annex 3 (to § 11 paragraph 7) with the title “Certificate of successful completion of an expert examination pursuant to Section 34a (1) sentence 3 number 3 and (1a) sentence 2 of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act (Gewerbeordnung)„.
Example:

Ms Maximiliane Sample Woman
born on 01.04.1987 in Musterstadt

Sample certificate

The following certificate was provided to us by an examination participant from Nuremberg. For security reasons, we have made the personal data and the signature unrecognisable:

Certificate of competence

Warning against fake certificates (forgeries)

At this point we would like to issue a clear warning: It happens again and again that people falsify such certificates of competence or have false certificates issued by dubious providers. Don’t do that!
You are liable to prosecution according to § 267 StGB (German Penal Code) (forgery of documents) if you use such a forged document in legal transactions (e.g. for presentation to an employer or a public authority)! In addition, the fraud will be discovered quickly when you compare it with the register of guards! So save yourself the trouble and take the examination at the IHK honestly and properly. The effort is manageable.

In the next chapter, you will find a summary of the relevant legal requirements from § 34a of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act (GewO) and the Guarding Ordinance (BewachV).
